Gratitude

Thank youA very special friend of mine, who I admire a great deal, was telling me she has begun recording three things she is grateful for every day – from small things, like the sun is shining, to big things like hers and her family’s health.

This got me thinking about the simple act of Gratitude and how often we all take things for granted – how caught up I know I get in day to day life and so often overlook how much I have to be thankful for.

At the end of every yoga class I teach, and in my own home yoga practice, I take a moment to feel grateful for whatever comes to mind. Mostly it is my family, sometimes my health or sometimes just the simple fact that I am happy to have been able to practice.

If we could all just take a moment at the end of each day to be grateful for even just one thing – what a difference it could make to our overall happiness and lives.
