To Mix Or Not To Mix
I went to a fabulous food demonstration on the weekend, done using a Thermomix. Having heard of them for years, my friend recently purchased one and could not stop talking about how wonderful it is and how much you can do in them, so I thought I should go see for myself.
When you are living a busy full life and trying to eat nutritionally rich, fresh, varied and tasty meals, it can get time consuming and you tend to need to keep educating yourself on new ideas regularly – this is where the Thermomix seems invaluable.
In an hour-and-a-half, Kelly (the nutritionist doing the demo) made-steamed brown rice with veggies, red lentil and sweet potato soup, spinach and cheese stuffed bread, broccoli salad, mayonnaise, muesli, pineapple sorbet, lemonade, tuna dip and custard – all in the one bowl (she washed it in-between each dish, of course!).
I was amazed. You can make juices and smoothies in it as well, which I would love to be more of a staple in the family diet, however I just can’t be bothered washing the juicer every day (those of you who own a juicer can surely relate).
I am almost sold but there is one thing holding me back……it costs $2000. How much monetary value can you place on yours and your family’s health? How much do you value your time? How important is it to be able to prepare meals that you have seen the quality of ingredients that go into it?
These are the questions I am currently pondering….any help?
