Spring Clean #2
Day 3 of the detox and I’m tired, really tired, my whole body aches, but the good news is the dull headache I’ve been suffering from has subsided – finally.
I haven’t been struggling with giving up coffee as much as I thought I would. In fact, I am quickly realising that it made me feel quite anxious and agitated, followed by lethargic and cranky. I have instead been waking up to a loose leaf chai tea with rice milk and a couple of drops of Stevia, which is a natural plant-based sweetener. It is a nice warm sweet drink to get me going without the ups and downs that caffeine brings.
Also so far so good with the whole sugar thing. However, I never ate sugar during the week anyway so I won’t speak too soon and will wait to see how I cope without my long black and banana bread on Saturday morning, then my chocolate hit on Saturday night!
I am feeling a bit run down, a bit snuffly and haven’t had as much energy in my runs and during yoga practice, but I am keeping my eye on the end prize and staying strong. If not for myself, I am determined to be a healthy person for my daughter as she has never had even a taste of chocolate, or processed food, and I can no longer hide it from her as she wants to eat what Mummy is eating!
